I am new to this site but am learning a lot from you all. I learned from here that the 1 cent George Washington first stamps were flat plate printed (498). I am posting photo of front and back to confirm I'm on the right path. Also included is the stamp on a perf guide. Not to get my hopes up too much but it appears as a 10perf. I have recently retired and have been going through a box of stamps so please understand if I am wrong. Many thanks in advance for your comments.

There are many look-a-like cousins to 498, in sheet, booklet and coil formats; with different perforation rates; on different papers: and 3 different printing methods.
Your flat-plate perf 10 stamp will be Scott 424 or 462, depending on watermark. Both are very common.

You don't state what printed or on-line resource you are using to identify your stamps, but the Scott U.S. Specialized catalog is an excellent choice and likely available at your local library.

The Postal Service Guide to US Stamps is what I am using. Is there something better? All advise is appreciated!

This is a great place to identify Washington/Franklins:
