I have come across an 1869 Scott #122 Lincoln pictorial. It is not square in shape, but the paper, grill, and engraving look authentic. Is this a forgery?

Hello! Can you try to upload again your image? It looks like there has been a problem while uploading it so we can't see the image!

It should have uploaded to the original post now. It is pictured next to a SCOTT #114.

The set has differing size stamps. I believe the 1c thru 12c are roughly the same size, unless you come across a jumbo. The higher denominations are larger stamps. Perhaps 2mm in each direction.

See the page below. It includes dimensions.

https://stampsmarter.org/1847usa/18...ntifier.html

#114 is roughly 20x20
#122 is roughly 22x22

From your picture it looks like your stamp may be re-perforated. I can not be sure - maybe a better scan would help

I agree with Peter, the #122 looks a bit narrow, but the height is fine (maybe a bit jumbo). It will almost always be taller than the #114.

Apittma, try and compare your stamp to another ( try Ebay or look in Scott ) and you will notice that the stamp is supposed to be wider.
Someone reperfed it, but that does not make it a forgery

If you compare the top perfs with the right side perfs you can see they do not match.
