I see that Scott/Amos sell Country Checklists. I think I understand the utility of checklists for topical collecting - I have one for Christmas stamps.
But I'm just wondering how a country checklist is used vs a catalog? As a place to keep track of what you have and don't have that's portable enough to take to a show?
Exactly. It is hard to lug a single Scott catalog to a show, much less a whole set. Though these days I see more people using an iPad at shows for their inventory rather than a physical checklist.
Also, except for new issues, the checklist doesn't go out of date like the Scott catalogs get updated and replaced every few years. I wouldn't use a catalog for a checklist for that reason.
