The Belgian Railway Company has produced a large number of stamps and souvenir sheets since the early 2000's. They have NO postal validity. I would like to find an online source that shows what, where and when these stamps (cinderellas) were produced. |

Timm, the strip you show are railway stamps, and they are used to pay for shipment by train. I think they used to be listed in the Belgian stamp catalogs. The above strip for instance is listed on Delcampe, under railway stamps.

I am still trying to locate information about the company that issues these stamps. On the internet there is reference that they are from the "Belgium Railway Company", Holding, Belgium. I can find any information about this company THESE ARE NOT THE "NATIONAL RAILWAY COMPANY OF BELGIUM", Brussels, Belgium which is government owned The above stamps have no postal or parcel value and are considered to be cinderelas. The Company behind them is a mystery. |

Don't know how much I can help but I searched "postage stamps Belgium trains" & found some of these listed. No background but looks to be a on going train series. They are Cinderella's. I use a worldwide computer program that is Scott based. Sometimes series's like these collectors add them using non Scott numbers that show up at the end of the country listings. My program shows 43 of these train stamps. I'm guessing but it looks like 1996 may have been the start with some 2003 being the last listed on my program. None of the 3 you originally posted are shown so I'm guessing there are a lot more. Ppl who add them place values on them whether realistic or not I don't have a clue. The 2 you show in your last post are the earliest (1996) show'n with value of $5 & $10.
I believe the Belgium Railway stamps referred to are earlier and listed in Scott under the Q description.
Again there is nothing concrete about what I'm passing on but if you keep searching you will find the answer. |

You will find that miniature sheet (block) here as well. https://belgischepostzegelcatalogus...9/?order=ascThey are BPost issues for the Belgian national railways (NMBS). This is obvious from the company's logo on the stamps. Since the late 1980s, they no longer have postal use, For that reason, they are called railway vignettes. |

Are these vignettes just for collectors to buy at these nominal costs or do they have use within the NMBS system - as for example for payment for passes or other transactions? |

@NSK, thanks for the reply. I have a number of the later parcel post stamps used as revenue stamps on various official documents is the reason I asked. Thanks again, Crispin |

That raises the question whether the documents are genuine. they have never served as revenue stamps. |

NSK: Thank you for the links; they clear up everything. On the internet there is reference that the stamps are from the "Belgium Railway Company", Holding, Belgium and not the National Railway Company of Belgium in Brussels or Liège. Apparently this was misinformation. For some unknown reason finding information on European websites is very difficult. The U.S. search engines seem to go pass them. |

Between 1991 and 2014, NMBS Holding was the holding company of NMBS, the company that operated the trains. They merged in 2014. |

Quote: That raises the question whether the documents are genuine. they have never served as revenue stamps. They certainly seem genuine - they are for school passes and very mundane documents like that as far as I remember. Very low value stuff that wouldn't be worth faking I'm busy with DIY and work on the railway I volunteer on this week until Saturday but I'll try and sort them out and scan and share a couple |
