The new flag is better than most of the recent ones. The new love is rather bad. |

What jumps out at me is the complete avoidance of American history subject matter. Apart from the flags and scenic vistas you could look at these stamps if you removed the letters USA and not be able to deduce where they are from. I mean, with the rich history of this Country you picked Betty White? |

I was wondering when they would be announcing these, thank you for posting. I do like the Betty White Stamp. I like the postcard leaves too. It's a pity that sending postcards is slowly dying out. I am one of those who scours out places when I travel looking for postcards. There's still some tourist areas that are still all in on them. Hoping to see more stamp images. |

For the Bicentennial, they released the first related issue 3 years before 1976. Next year will be 1 year out from 2026 and not a single one. Instead we get 10 cartoon animals and 15 Appalachian Trail etc. |

eyeonwall - I could get very political, but all I will say is past history has shown the USPS is extremely partisan, and also no longer cares about American history that ALL OF US can unite around. |

I believe a stamp for Mary Tyler Moore would be more meaningful than Betty White. The same logic gave us Alex Trebek over others.

Personally, celebrity stamps in a Country with such a rich history and with our 250th Anniversary approaching are just ridiculous. At times I get the feeling we are seeking "wallpaper" or "Sand Dune" status. Muscle cars, flowers, lizards, pop culture "stars", planets, I mean come on man. Replace the "United States of America" on these stamps and you could have those ubiquitous Caribbean stamps of a certain period that Scott footnotes rather than lists. Time for a reset and get back to celebrating the Country writ large. My opinion. |
