Hello!

I believe, this stamp is not an official issue. But I have seen some pieces (pair with the John Ash imprint at bottom), so I think it could be essays. I could find no information about it.

I would be thankful if anyone provides information about it.

Here the picture of the pairs with John Ash imprint. These pairs was offered as proofs. Because they are printed by the official stamp printer (John Ash), I think that they are not vignettes.

Is there a homepage with detailed information about australian proofs etc.?

Best wishes,

They might be essays. However, as they have not been issued, what are they proofs of?

Scroll down the attached for the thoughts of Mr Stephens.

Edit: the link has been removed as it's been a past source of spam. The gist is that these are bogus stamps from a UK source.

I think, they could be essays. Interesting that they have been printed with the imprint of the John Ash. I saw a lot of essays from different countries, almost all were printed without any imprint or official markings.

Unfortunately there is no information about the artist who designed this essays.

Now I see that these stamps are bogus. The page of Glen Stephens tells the story.

Thank you very much.

I have to say that I much prefer the fakes to what was actually issued!
