Circulation decreases so that there are less eyeballs on advertising, but advertising rates go up because you need the same revenue to publish less copies. A lose-lose proposition. |

I used to get a few Linns mixed in with paper at the Recycling Center where I work. Sounds like Linns like many companies are saving money by going digital. Getting a paper issue in the mail made you feel important. Now one must search for the digital copy on your computer. |

The subscriptionn price for the digital Linn's and SSM is $45 per year for 64 issues so less than $1 per issue. I am curious about digital ad rates. The all digital Linn's still seems to have a digital PDF of a printed magazine so not taking any advantage of digital formating. |

If they are truly going all digital, I hope they will fix their "Publication Date" as listed on the masthead.
I received an email on 12-21-2024 a but after 1 AM with the subject being the 1-6-2025 Weekly Digital Linn's Issue. When opened to read, it was the 1-13-2025 issue. Now when copies were mailed, the approximately two week date difference of mailing and masthead publication date was two weeks to allow for USPS handling of the newspaper. If I am getting only digital and only digital is available a masthead date of 26 days after I get the copy via email is pointless. It also show the "information is three weeks plus out of date when the masthead date rolls around. |

Now today, 12-28-2024 at 1:12 Am Linn's sent an email indicating the 1-16-2025 issue of Linn's digital is attached. Surprise it was and was the same issue, 1-16-2025 which was attached back on the 21st (see post above).
The other odd issue is when you open emails sent prior to 12-21-2025 only the most recent issue (1-13-2025) opens, no matter the "date" of the issue sent. You then must go to the down arrow "tool bar" to get to the archive to find the issue you want.
The first digital Linn's issue was created in August 2002. It is now over 22 years later and perhaps they are not spending any money for competent tech staff and only buying off the shelf. I did not hear a flush, but I see something circling the drain. Has Mystic made out the check yet and just waiting to enter an amount? |

I'm letting my current subscription lapse when it runs out. It's no longer the same value (to me) since it's gone all digital. I don't feel like getting a tablet when I go to for morning potty break, which is typically when I would read the magazine.
While reading publications on a mobile phone will do in a pinch, like when at stamp shows, it is a horrible recreational reading method IMO. And I say that even having a Samsung Galaxy Fold, which has a 7-inch screen which is larger than most phones.
It's just not the same... call me a luddite. |

While reading publications on a mobile phone will do in a pinch, like when at stamp shows, it is a horrible recreational reading method IMO I have huge fingers with heavy callousing and as such using a smart phone is a pain. I have several computers at home but hate reading long interesting articles on them. I want my enjoyment away from and not in front of a computer screen. My current favorite time to read stamp stuff is sitting in my car waiting and reading the stuff tossed in the trunk. I would also take specifically my Linn's and other publications to the local dog park, sit in a tree and read while the dog enjoyed doggie interactions after a run or three through the doggie obstacle course for my exercise. Edit due to the comments which appeared above while I was typing. I was connected 24/7/365 when working starting when cell phones (blackberries) started to arrive. While doing one years long assignment I had not two computer screen attached to my desktop but rather two desktops with a screen each. Away from my desk I had other units available when I need to use more than two computers. Upon retirement, I went with a flip phone for years until my family forced me to join the smartphone family plan. New (tech) does not mean better. |

I got my first Linn's Stamp News in the early 2000s and really liked it and was a long time print subscriber. I would not purchase a digital copy. I still sometimes pick a random physical copy to read from time to time.
Canadian Stamp News is still phyiscal. |

Not to mention that I do not want to stare at it for longer than necessary. Great tool for many things such as info on the go, taking cat videos and contacting CENTCOM or that Chinese takeout place but watch a movie or read a magazine? |

Has Amos Publishing made any determination as to how they intend to 'make-up for the missed Stamp Monthly print editions? I am missing Sept. - November & have not yet received my January issue. (I did get a December print issue). I just received my annual invoice for renewal with original February expiration date & no mention of extension for missed issues. I am hesitant to renew based on their lack of information. I was going to renew for print monthly & digital weekly but it seems they have no interest in making long term subscribers whole for the missed issues. Any advice or comment would help. |

You have to call or email to ask for it. Across numerous similar lapses over the past several years, Amos has never voluntarily extended subscriptions for missed issues or lost content (when they abandon digital platforms leaving customers without the content they paid for). They only compensate you if you make a big deal about it.
Some of the worst customer service and communication I've ever seen. |

On page six of the December 2024 issue under the column printing news they explain the delay and indicate that they will extend the print subscription expiration dates due to the unprinted September October and November monthly issues. |
