dynamode,

Great to see more of these flaws.

Small ink blobs between frames might be transient over-inking but some are rated as constant flaws, so keep them coming.

As a flyspecker its great to be able to give a flaw a name. Gate frame flaw. Is it listed ?

The 'gate' name is mine - you will be pleased to know that, although I won't be looking up every flaw shown on this thread, that particular flaw is listed in 2023 ACSC Australian States Federal Period 1901-1912 catalogue 2nd Edition where it is known as Dent in right frame opposite "1", valued at $40.00 for comb perf 12.2x12.4 or $100.00 for single line perf 11.

There is a similar flaw listed for the blue two pence halfpenny stamp.

The circles either side of the value tablet. The left one on my stamp is solid colour. I have seen stamps with both solid, or the right one solid and left as my right circle. What is the normal ?

Ideally, all three of these ornaments (left, right and below ONE PENNY) would show a solid circle separated from a circular frame but they are often over-inked. This one is reasonably clear (incidentally also showing constant flaw on N of ONE):

fairdinkumstamps.

Great info thanks.

SG385c with gate flaw is, according to my notes, Perf 12¼ x 12¾. (12.25 x 12.75)

Apart from (minor) watermark varieties, which are not visual flaws, I think thats all of them for now.
I will go through my scans, as I see flaws listed here and see if I have any more from Victoria that I have missed
.
Do you know of any similar threads for the other states ?.

Here is an example of one such catalogued constant flaw on the 1901-1912 Six Pence "Postage" issue:

'Spot of colour under right end of S of SIX':

That missing right outer frame is wild. Do I have to go back and look through all of these now? I guess so.
