Update - courtesy of the American Philatelic Society, who put out an alert, I found out yesterday that the stamp was offered recently to a dealer in Quebec via this e-mail :
"From: (edited out) Subject: Question on rare British Guiana stamp To: @arpinphilately.com Hello, I was wondering if you could tell me what kind of an offer you could give me on the following 1852 British Guiana Magenta Stamp? -Matt C. "
The photo attached to this e-mail, sent by Arpin to the APS and forwarded to me, was a copy of one of my Ebay listing photos. This proves conclusively that Kaydene Chea did receive the stamp I sent, and lied to Ebay. She also libelled me in her written refund claim to Ebay, which described my sale as "fraudulent".
By Googling the e-mail address, I found a website showing that "Matt C" is in fact Matthew CHEA ; and that information enabled me to find a public records site which shows him living at the address where Kaydene used to live, and confirms that Matthew is (no surprise) related to Kaydene.
Either he was involved in planning this attempted fraud from the start, or he is now trying to help her dig herself out of the financial hole caused by her attempted fraud failing.

Great work by all involved on this. Fraud and scamming are rampant. I just spent the morning on the phone with Bank of America because somebody was trying to open accounts in my name (again). |

Excellent thread and glad to see that the APS is willing to assist and we have gone further than I would have imagined. Here's to hoping for the eventual return of the stamp in question. |

To clarify - after Ebay rejected her return/refund claim, the buyer kept the stamp and I kept her payment. So she has "good title" and can legally sell it. But that doesn't alter the fact that this was attempted fraud, which is a crime. Kaydene Chea - perhaps with Matthew Chea as an accessory - tried to steal $1200 from me by making a false accusation to Ebay.
I have asked the Saint Cloud PD whether they can investigate this on my behalf ; but the fact that I'm thousands of miles away and cannot attend any meeting may mean they choose not to do that. |

I wonder if the court system will catch up with the times and offer Zoom or some other teleconference for court attendance in situations like this (or is this already a thing in some places)? I'm sure there are nuances and barriers but physical distance in international situations should be given more lenience than given to criminals imo. |

I constructed court facilities in the 90's that had video conferencing capabilities mainly to keep misbehaving defendants from disrupting things. Not sure why you can't testify via video conferencing. Lawyer in the house? |

In the US a criminal defendant has the Constitutional right to confront accusing witnesses, so trial testimony for the government's case almost always has to be in person. Jailhouse video facilities usually are restricted to non-trial proceedings such as bail hearings, requests to modify the terms of confinement, pretrial evidentiary hearings, civil suits by the prisoner against the state, and so forth. Trial testimony of juvenile witnesses often can use video to protect the child, but not always.
Civil cases commonly use video for trial testimony, discovery depositions and hearings, especially because a party cannot compel a non-party witness to testify in person more than 50 miles from their home. |

This person just did the same thing to me! Matthew Chea, or Kaydene Chea. Since its been longer than 14 days I can't see his email address, can you tell me what it is or any other information about them? Specifically Mattew Chea is the one who scammed me. I'm trying to file a police report. Thanks |

So… your very first post on this forum, ever, is to follow up on a four month old thread stating that you too were a victim of one or more Chea's? You claim they succeeded in scamming you, but don't have the email address they used or anything other info about them? I'm suspicious. |

I do have this info, this is the person who scammed me: Matthew Chea *** Edited by Staff - Please review the rules that you agreed to when you registered. ***I also know about Kaydene Chea and her alias Kadene Brown, and their old eBay user name "kayche" that got shut down by eBay I Googled his name and that led me to your posts. I signed up here because I need to file a report with Saint Cloud Police and ic3.gov very quickly to provide to eBay as evidence that they scammed me so that I can can get my money back On eBay, after 14 days, they remove your access to view their email address for some reason. I guess this may look suspicious, but I have very little time to file these claims against him. If you have any other suspicions about me, I will happily clear them up as fast as I can. I have been selling on eBay for 17 years and this has never happened to me, I've been physically nauseous all day over this ever since I opened the box... Please, please help me... |

To be fair, I believe that eBay obfuscates all email addresses now, but they would the buyer's other contact information, so yeah, it's suspect. |

Wait what?? No! Sellers have access to Buyer's contact information AFTER the sale has gone through. Here is a screenshot of of it! ***Image Edited By Staff***What do you guys think I'm trying to do? I don't understand? I noticed how angry you all were with these people, calling them thieves and scum and such, but when I try to come to you asking for help against the *exact same* people, you think I have some nefarious motive?? I truly, honestly don't understand...? What more proof do you need? I'll give it to you! Whatever you want, please help me stop these scammers! |

If you found this thread via Google, that's good, it means perhaps word will get out about Juju, our new resident misfit. An email address doesn't legally mean anything; not having one shouldn't stop you from filing a police report or doing anything else. After all, fuming one and creating another costs literally no money and takes no effort. You have what matters: a name, USPS mailing address, phone number, and info about the transaction. Maybe b-w-b could offer some tips about the eBay side of things, beyond that, I dunno. |

Please note: Posting an eBay user name and your experience is allowed, but doxing (posting their personal info) someone is not allowed. Getting taken by someone else is never good, but I am sure that no one would want to be responsible if the person who you feel took advantage of you were to come to harm (or worse). Don |
