Don, I am so glad to hear that you have gotten this long awaited kidney transplant. As you seem to tirelessly apply yourself to this board and Stamp Smarter, please take the time you need to welcome the new addition to your body. Believe me, we understand if your attention may be spotty at times - we love all that you do, so don't worry, be happy.

Update:
As I previously mentioned, transplanted kidneys are sometime slow to 'start'. On average, about 30% of the transplanted kidneys will take anywhere from a few days to 3-4 months before they start and during that time the patient still requires dialysis. Having dialysis during this time keeps the new kidney from being overwhelmed and working it too hard.

So unfortunately, I had to go back to dialysis on Monday and then had to make the 4 hour trip back to Duke for follow-up visits, more medicine training (taking fistfuls of drugs) and more testing. Just got back in a hour ago (these 4 hour drives are getting old) and got the results of the latest tests.

The new kidney is fired up and they have told me I need no more dialysis!
Hallelujah!!!!!
