I plan to move back to Canada in around 3 years so I am getting everything ready to decorate my new future home. I would like to get some of the framed enlarged stamps offered by Canada Post to decorate my collecting room (hopefully I will have a room just for this purpose) but have discovered they are hard to find. I particularly like the Canadian Wildlife set, like the $8 Grizzly and the $4 Bighorn Sheep (the only one currently available at Canada Post).

I am trying to find a list of these stamps that were available framed, so I can start looking for them. I don't have access to my catalogue (being overseas) so I can't look it up and I can't find much online. Does anyone have a list of the Canadian Wildlife series that were available framed and enlarged? Thanks in advance.

I do have all of the Canada Post presenting cards and all their detail catalogues issued over the last 30 or so years. Maybe even longer, just have to check. Will get a look at them when I go home and will get back to you late tomorrow with the information I find.

That's great, thanks. I went to the Canada Post Facebook page and asked them the same question. It responded with a form letter saying they don't have enough people to answer questions and gave me a link to support. The link didn't work. Sigh.

Apologies. With the holiday this weekend I forgot to do this, and totaly used the weekend for a total of 5 days involved in my FDC collection. Seriously I will have the information for you tomorrorw. Mike

With 40 years worth of checking tagging, varieties, combinations on cover, at least I now know what I have and need. Now to sell off my 2 to 3 thousand extras.

The framed prints are not listed in the unitrade specialized catalogue. They are shown in the older details and collections magazines CP used to issue. I am not sure if you wanted the smaller animals and birds issued as framed prints, so I have shown the larger animals and birds so far and they are pictured below.

In the Christmas 2010 issue I found the following:
$5.00 Moose issued Dec 19, 2003 CPC order code 341874
$8.00 Grizzly issued Oct 15,1997 CPC order code 341873
$1.00 Loon issued Oct 27,1998 CPC order code 341872
Each was sold at $89.95 but put on sale for $67.46 each

Combination frame of Loon, Moose and Bear in a single frame. CPC order code 341875 Sold for 129.95 but put on sale for 97.46

In the 2019 issue I found the following:
$4.00 Bighorn sheep issued Oct 10,2018 CPC order code 342210 selling for $89.95.
Small Commemorative bears issue put in frame. CPC order code 342221 selling at $59.95.

Hope this helps. There are other large issues but unsure if they did large framed prints of all of them. Such as :
$2.00 polar bear issued Oct 27, 1998
$1.00 white tailed deer and $1.00 atlantic walrus issued Oct 2005.
$2.00 peregrine falcon and $2.00 sable island horse issued Dec19, 2005
$10.00 whale issued Oct 4, 2010

There were available boxed sets of coin and stamp combination sets of all these issues. Hope this helps.

Mike

That's great information, thanks!
These prints are surprisingly hard to find. Not sure if nobody bought them or people that did buy them don't sell them. Have not found a dealer that has any of these. I will set up some searches in eBay and see what comes up.

Hey Robert. The wildlife framed pictures you mentioned were not issued by Canada Post if memory serves me correctly. The stamps are not of any monatary values from any country but do mirror the drawings or paintings above them. There was a company in the 1980's era that visited the university where I worked and was offering them for sale as art for offices.

Hello. Does anyone know where you can order the 1997 grizzly stamp with matching poster framed? Unfortunately lost with damage in a house but has sentimental value. Looking to find another one and it seems impossible! Any leads appreciated
