An unbelievable Ebay auction ended today: A pretty common stamp from Finland with a perforated "W" rose to more than 290 Euros. I know that those Finnish perfins are very scarce, but this was far more than I expected.

So never say, perfins have to be thrown away!

Yes, there are some VERY rare perfins out there. Unless you have been collecting them awhile you will never know because most Perfin catalogs don't value or rate them. But eBay will tell you quickly. With that in mind, most are not very rare! That is the fun of them....you can actually find new patterns. I have found several.
