I noticed no one had shared a pic of an S&H stamp so I decided to do so.

And while I'm at it here's some similar items folks might remember or not.

Also in the spirit of saving them up for something in return:

I'd like to see some pics of others in this same vein if that's okay with laswabbie.

OG

OG,
I use to work at a Subway and the parent company did away with the sub club stamp program because employees were selling full rolls on Ebay or just giving them away to their friends. LOL Talk about going on the subway diet. I did enjoy putting "sandwich artist" on my tax returns for job title.

I can remember going to the S & H store to redeem them. It was really fun looking for items you had enough stamps for. Does anyone remember when they were discontinued. I seem to think it was the early 80's.

The S&H Green stamp stores were still around in North Texas in the mid 80's.

I grew up in England and in the early late fifties it was a big deal to get one or two green stamps with your purchase, to fill a whole book and you were looking at a new transistor radio. By the mid sixties gas stations were selling triple and quadruple stamps with each gallon. It took two or three books to get that radio (which had become cheaper and nastier by then as well). By the early seventies supermarkets were giving away whole pages with purchases and it took a dozen books to get that radio. In fact the S&H stamps had become so devalued that it was rare to get the single stamp, you now got stamps that had a value of 10 stamps and a book designed for them. Kind of like the Zimbabwe currency. Well by the mid seventies the S&H stamps were not worth a dime and the gifts were so bad that nobody bothered with them. The company in the UK folded and today a book of them on ebay will sell for the price of a small transistor radio. Funny how the world turns

sharksfan11,
Do you have just the stamps or booklets too? I would love to add an S&H stamp to my very small collection of ration and savings stamps.

I have a picture of an authentic "We Sell S & H Green Stamps Here" metal sign from an old gas station on historic Route 66. - go figure.LOL

I remember the S & H Green stamps. Don't the initials stamd for Sperry and Hutchinson? There were many others during the fifties and sixties in Minnesota. Clark gas stations. Erickson gas stations. Gold Bond was quite prevalent around here. Subway fast food joints discontinued using their premium stamps several years ago, for which when you filled up a page you got a fricasee of toad sub sandwich with fresh caterpillar sauce or is my memory somewhat faulty?

OMG! Do I remember those stamps! I learned to read and do my math by the catalog from those stamps...lol My mother told me that if I wanted something bad enough from that catalog I had to do the licking and sticking myself. There was a doll house that I had wanted and let me tell you I was one happy camper when the last stamp was licked.

I saw the British invasion of Anguilla, the rise of the Tuvalu nation out of the dilapidated G&EIC, the strife in Rwanda and Eritrea, the fall of the Berlin wall, the end of the USSR, and the collapse of the Serbian empire in Yugoslavia, yet how could I prepare myself for the little boy with no stamps.
