Do you have a stamp with coin or coins or coin shaped medallions shown on it? any country and any year is fine, please post a pic, Here's a medallion shown on a year 1968 Vatican stamp. Thank you!

Nic:
you may wish to check with the American Topical Association regarding a study unit on coins & currency on stamps. A great way to mix two great hobbies.
On the "flip side of the coin", the U.S. did issue encased postage stamps to be used for coins, during the Civil War (I think!).
A cover (usually a first day cover) with a coin for a cachet is called a PNC (philatelic-numistmatic cover). They were popular in the 1970s. The term PNC is also used to described U.S. coil stamps with the plate number on the coil stamp. These are called "Plate Number Coils"

Issued in 2008 to mark the centennial of the Royal Canadian Mint. Very nicely printed by Lowe-Martin combining offset/litho with embossing. The imprint of the embossing is quite clear on back. The sheet of 16 is well laid out. |
