My auction wins from earlier this month arrived today. The items had been shipped two days after the auction, but they have been lying around mail processing centres in Madrid and at the airport for the better part of ten days, Once put on a flight, they arrived within two days. The items I was interested in were a set of Millenium of Castile and one of the Canary Isles airmail overprints from the Civil War period. Passed lots remained available at their starting price, I did some impulse buying furing the auction abd got all three passed lots: a King Juan Carlos I perforation shift, a Franco coarse perforations printed on the gummed side, and a nice colour variety on one of the tourism stamps with one in the correct colour for comparison. |

received latest small fulfillment order. Alas, my hope for an inverted-inverted $2 Jenny has darkened. I will be prepping & placing the Ansel Adams sheet & covers in my 2024 album sometime today while listening to the BoSox game. (as with my collection, building on the good things, while leaning from the let downs) |

Well, these arrived Wednesday. Until I can find blocks, I will have to make do with these. I like the violet overprint on that last stamp. It is vibrant. |

Today, I received an item I bought from a seller on a Spanish platform. I cannot say I have received a sending with this type of franking before (addresses erased). I shall post the content elsewhere. |

JURY duty. How do I tell them that in 2003 a local judge (old bat) treated me like crap after I could have been killed in a motorcycle accident? I'll have a coin in my pocket to flip because I just don't care. |

I've done jury service three times over the years in various London courts. They called me on a fourth occasion, but cancelled the call after I suggested that perhaps I'd done my time. |

Received a new 32/64 stockbook in the post today, less than 48 hours since placing the order. So a big shout out to Dauwalders of Salisbury and Parcelforce for rapid, trouble free service! Now to re-locate my Belgium and its ex-colonies to a new home. Regards DavidR |

Some time ago, I ordered two books from a Spanish stamp dealer. One was the "Catálogo de los Sellos de Canarias" by E. Aurioles. This was published in 1968. Because of an error in the inventory system, the website showed one was available, when it was outof stock. The dealer managed to find another example and sent me the two I just picked up the parcel from the PostNL service counter of my local supermarket. When I opened it, I found just one book inside. However, inside that book was the catalogue. It is minute. To give an impression of the size, I include part of a cover with Spanish stamps attached. From what is written in the introduction, this was a supplement to a philatelic publication. This catalogue cost € 20. I found one more example on Todocoleccion at the same price. At a first glance, it is a very useful catalogue. |

Today I got a stamps position finder (Thirkell gauge). Perhaps I will never find a use of this but I can't resist those kind of gadget. I got a complet set of regional Machin heads definitives from Man island and a little collection of ATM/frama stamps from various countries (Mostly european). I love Frama : they are seldom seen on collection, quite cheap, etc. I would love to get them used on cover, but not this time. |

Today arrives a fun item : Mongolia « peace mandala » stamp which, for a time was considered to be the biggest stamp of the world. A completely useless stamp, clearly made for the philatelic market, overpriced, for those who can't make a difference beetween stamps and football stickers… I was the perfect target for this I also get a nearly complet set of frama stamps from the UK. I'd love to get them used : And finally, a set of king Charles III definitives, directly from Royal mail : |

I received my ordered 2024 Annual Stamp book from the USPS Fulfillment Center Thursday. I have not looked at the stamps included, (I got the 2-side packets as well) but I did peruse through the book itself. What a FANTASTIC end of year, all inclusive US issue. The cover is a work of art & the designer should be congratulated. The information on the issues, although base, does supplement my collection tremendously. I have many years of ANNUALs and it seems the USPS out-does itself each year. In the coming weeks I will slide the stamps into the provided clear mount & place into the yearbook. I will then catalog the Yearbook by individual stamp, block, sheet, or booklets. |
