How Do I Link to Another SCF Thread?

Sometimes we all like to refer a question to a previous thread here on SCF. It's very simple to link to another post.

First, find the other post you wish to share, then click in your browsers ADDRESS bar and copy all the text you find there. It will look something like this:

In the thread where you are posting, just paste your copied text into your message. SCF will automatically convert the text to a clickable link.

That's all there is to it. You can stop reading now.

However, to go a bit further, it doesn't take a master spy to crack the meaning of the text in the address bar:

A more-complicated link might look like this. Sometimes I find it easier to copy/paste the entire line, then delete the part after the topic ID number.

Remember, we have a TESTING forum if you wish to experiment:

Hi Kirk.
In the actual post there are a set of icons at the top. The right hand side one that looks like the world with an arrow will also give you a link to that post too.

Yes Anthony -- and that link adds a POST_NUMBER parameter that takes you to the exact spot in the thread.

Thanks for reminding me,
Kirk
