How about showing us a photo of your local post office? You can even share other ones if you'd like. This is the main PO in Belmont MA. I never use it... you can never find parking. The only reason you see parking in this shot is because the road was closed due to a house move!

Considering today is Super Tuesday, I wonder if Mitt Romney has trouble parking there? Belmont is his hometown, right? But then again, he probably doesn't use the post office all that much! Anyway, back to the subject of post offices... This picture is a bit blurry (from Google) but it's the post office I prefer to use in a neighboring town. Never a wait. Hardly ever more than one person in there at any one time. Parking right in front. It sure beats the city post offices ... and they have almost every new issue on the day it comes out! |

I have three local post offices: North Hoosick which is the smallest in New York and second smallest in the United States. It may close soon and the property is already up for sale. The next one is the larger in town post office of Hoosick Falls, NY. I don't go here often unless I need to pick up a package or registered mail. And this is the post office I can walk to - Hoosick, NY. It's not really visible as it's on the right side of the Big Moose Deli. This is from I mail everything. |

The Woodbridge, VA post office that services my mail. Typically 3 to 5 stations operating and 3 automated postal machines. Parking can be a challenge and there is always a line. I stop at the small Occoquan, VA post office on my way to or from work in Washington, DC when I am sending material to SCF members that I want to have hand-cancelled. 2 stations are typically staffed and the lobby is large enough to hold 4 people (3 if someone has packages). I try to work from home at least 2 days a week and will use the Contract Postal Unit in the Dillingham Shopping Center for hand cancels when sending material to SCF members on those occasions. |

I want to go to the Mexican one!! ;-) WT1 - Mitt was in town yesterday to vote at our senior center. He has a condo in that section of town. I used to drive by his old house all the time, but he sold it a few years ago. You could hear/see the news helicopters hovering over town to get footage.
We do have another PO in town, but I dont' get over there much... |

This is the post office at 30th Street in Philadelphia. It's open 24x7 and is really busy on April 15th! The one near me doesn't look nearly as impressive. I'll snap a pic next time I go there. Here is the Bensalem post office near me on Google Maps. http://maps.google.com/maps?q=bensa...e=gplus-ogsb |

OK that's great Here are a couple of images of the old clock tower post office. Chimo Bujutsu Old Bracebridge post office under construction - was finished late 1914 or early 1915. Message on back states - - "This will be our new post office as far as they have got it but not nearly finshed yet". The cancel is dated Mar. 16, 1914. The completed post office. The building still stands too. |

The new post office is totally lacking in any type of character. This is a postcard (c1915) of the old post office with operated from 1890's to about 1990. |

Bujutsu: I wonder if your Bracebridge post office was sort of a boiler plate design that was used at the time. I'm certain I've seen its twin in Chesley, Ontario (Bruce County). |

Looks like the guy standing at the corner of that Bracebridge post office is wearing a top hat! That's something you don't see anymore. |

Barcelona's main Post Office(built in 1929) in 1931. The building hasn't changed at all. I can't say the same about the square and crowd... And, as it is today: |
