Birds from the red book of the Republic of Moldova:

The first edition of the Red Book issued in 1978 contained 29 species of animals and 26 species of plants, the second edition of 2001 - 126 species of plants and 116 species of animals, The third edition of the Red Book of the Republic of Moldova includes 216 species of animals and 218 species of plants. The new version of the book has 75 species of plants more that were not previously considered as rare, but that are now on the verge of extinction.

Here comes a somewhat older souvenir sheet. To be exact: the oldest souvenir sheet in philatelic history: issued in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg on January 3, 1923, on the occasion of the birth of Princess Elisabeth (whose mother was Grand Duchess Charlotte).

Sweden

This souvenir sheet is not quite as old as the one from Luxembourg: it was issued in the German Reich on November 29, 1933, for the 10th anniversary of the German Emergency Aid.

The stamps show images from the life of Saint Elizabeth of Hungary (as the daughter of the Hungarian king, she married at the age of 14 Louis IV, who became the landgrave of Thuringia; hence she is known in Germany as Saint Elizabeth of Thuringia).

After her husband's death, she regained her dowry, using the money to build a hospital where she herself served the sick. She became a symbol of Christian charity after her death at the age of 24 and was canonized in 1235. She is venerated as a saint by the Catholic Church.
