FRANCE 1930 One hundred years French settlement in Algeria. Scott 255 Printing : Bi - coloured typography Designer : Charles Brouty Engraver : Georges Hourriez worked mostly on typography stamps but was also the engraver for 2 French recess engraved stamps  These 3 show that the French printer wasn't too concerned about quality control and why after the mid thirties all French commemorative stamps were printed recess engraved. |
