. . . and cancels and covers too of course!

By the way 2011 is the International Year of Forests.

A previous thread about one country's set of stamps (included here for completeness):

Canada 2011 Forests souvenir sheet

and the bottom stamp where there seems to be more going on than at first meets the eye, or eyes, well, at least to me.

Is that a woodland creature peeking out from the shadows beneath the foremost toadstool?

You've opened up a very large topical subject.

As for my contribution, here's a sheet from the US on the Hawaiian Rain Forest:

I just found this yesterday in a box of stamps I was sorting. Wish they had done a better job cutting it.

Back of FDC, quite hard to read unless zoomed in on.

I think this issue is one of the best looking Canadian in years.
Superb printing job by Lowe-Martin.

And finally a worthy subject compared to most of the unnecessary
issues we've had in the last few years.

Puzzler I remember filling up at Petro Canada gas exclusively
just to get all four miniature sheets even though
I had avoided them before.
That's the last time an oil company gave me anything.
Now they're doing it to me.

I thought it was kind of ironic that an oil company would be giving presents in the theme of ecosystems. I just have the one mini-pane, got it in a lot.

I agree on the 2011 Forests issue. I wish they (them there folks) could have put some animals in the forest also. Kind of put it in perspective. Maybe a person standing next to that big old tree also.
