This 1995 Maltese commemorative honors native son Michelangelo Sapiano (1826 - 1912), a clock maker and inventor.

On February 8, 1989 the Isle of Man issued a set of 5 stamps (Sc#s 384-8) honoring artist, designer, and native son Archibald Knox. Knox worked in a style that can be called Celtic, or art nouveau. He designed for many media from jewelry and metals to graphics and calligraphy. The 13p stamp (Sc#384) shown here is a Tudric pewter and enamel clock.

The 4pf and 40pf values (Michel #s 43 and 52) of Berlin's 1949 Buildings series depict the "Schoeneberger Rathaus" (town hall) with its tall clock tower. Here are the stamps and a photographic maximum card of the building.
