Speaking of watches. I remember an article in Time magazine
circa 1970 which was about China's technological achievements
after the upheavals of the Cultural Revolution.
They were bragging that they finally produced watches which
only lost half an hour every month.

Red Cross Solidarity Week tax stamp, featuring the central train station of Skopje (Macedonia), showing the clock stopped at the time 5:16AM, which is when the major earthquake of 1963 destroyed much of the town.

I agree with you Nells the Austrian ones are good looking stamps and
have fine engraving.
Interestingly each of the six stamps had a different engraver.
The Austrian State Printers probably had a dozen engravers
around that time.
The M in M.Laurent stands for Maria. She was one of the few female
engravers in what I suppose was/is a male dominated field.
