The Chagual Butterfly (Castnia eudesmia) is a species of butterfly endemic to the coastal area of #8203;#8203;northern and central Chile, being the largest butterfly in that country with a wingspan of 7 cm in males and up to 11 cm in females.
Females lay their eggs at the base of plants known as chagual or puya.
