Martial arts are systems of combat and self-defense that often involve both physical techniques and mental discipline. They are practiced for various purposes, including competition, fitness, self-defense, and spiritual growth. Here is a set shows traditional Vietnamese martial arts, issued by North Vietnam on October 25, 1968:

Kiem – Sword
Dao Gam – Dagger or Short Sword
Con – Staff

1948 & 1956 Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh stamps.
I bought these in a Hanoi stamp shop in 1993. The owner was a old guy who had worked at the VN Postal Service for many years. He had drawers full and stacks of, not just stamps but, sheets he had taken "off the press", while at the VNPS. Amazing collection!

I got my information about these stamps from Scott's 2025. The plain stamps appear to be from 1948, and the "surcharged" stamps from 1956. Scott's cautions that there are reprints and fakes. Authentication would seem difficult at this point.
Any thoughts?

To mark the 6th anniversary of the Cuban revolution, North Vietnam issued a set of two stamps on January 1, 1965. The left one shows the two countries flags (and Bamboo tree) and the right stamp shows an iconic design of Fidel Castro and Camilo Cienfuegos entering Havana on January 8, 1959. The design based on a photo by Alberto Korda and appears on many stamps.
