Unitrade doesn't show an image of this variety - Kiss print, faint redoubling. Can anyone tell me if the image below is it? This appears across most of the inscription JESOUS AHTONHIA but is noticeable on the left side of the stamp.

Thanks in advance.

No, it is not 743i IMO. This is an example from an auction sale:

Note the overall complete doubling of the image which appears blurry in its entirety. All of the colors are involved.

Frankly, I don't think the Arpin example qualifies.

Wow! that auction example is quite a shift. It looks as if CBNC was having problems with this printing. with all three of these Christmas stamps.

It looks as if Unitrade, if they ever get up and running again, will have to explain better their what qualifies for the $40 a pop valuation they give on this stamp and the $100 for the 10c and 12c stamps as it looks as if it comes down a matter of degree. One of the reasons I asked the question is because the example I originally gave is typical of ALL the 743 I bought originally when first issued and to a lesser degree the 741 and 742,.

I went as far as checking for any signs of the kiss print on the plate inscription. And yes, it was there but as this is very fine print I needed to go to 9600dpi to see it. I then checked the the inscription on CNBC's next job (but perhaps not in terms of printing date), the Sailing Vessels 12c 744-7 issue. By comparison, the inscription in this case was crystal clear.

Even by the late seventies Canadian Bank Note still didn't have the
ability or maybe even the printing press to print offset/litho as well as Ashton-Potter Ltd.

Which is understandable since up to 1967 CBNC printed stamps and banknotes
mainly via intaglio whereas AP was strictly an offset/litho printing company.

I remember when the first Ashton-Potter printed stamps were issued beginning in 1970
I said to myself, wow these are good looking stamps.

First AP Canadian stamp

Group of Seven paintings have always been some of my favourites.

It is interesting that this first AP Canada stamp has BABN line perforation 11 gauge.
