Not really a good folder to discuss these, so might as well keep it here. Not philatelic as such (although there are a myriad of trade card series from the 1880s-1920s that have postage stamps as a theme), but I just love the graphics on many of the designs.

I picked these examples up from Denny Peoples at Chicagopex.

There are a LOT of medicine trade cards which match up with the m&m's, although match trade cards are very scarce. The medicine ones used to be easily and cheaply found but not so true today.

I collect early 20th century poster stamps because of the graphic artistry - plus you can find rare stamps cheap. I'm building a collection of incandescent light stamps which I may exhibit in another year or two. Occasionally I run across a beautiful trade card like the one below, which makes me wonder if I should collect these too and make a display exhibit.

I have a fair number of trade cards issued by companies that issued medicine stamps. My favorite -

the card was also featured on a Celebrate the Century stamp

and has the design of a M&M stamp

I'm definitely a fan of the period design on many trade cards. But I only collect those that were engraved.
