Nothing is organized and I know nothing but the sets look nice.

The stamps are from all over the world, going back to the early 1900s.
Are there any sets I should look for?
I have no idea where to start. I'm a coin collector.

Some pictures are a must to start getting responses. As to what pictures to take, that is a tougher one if you are new to stamps. If you could pick a selection of Countries and time periods it could get us started in helping you. British Commonwealth and Western European Countries are as good a place as any to begin.

Some info on Garcelon:

Quote:
Much of Garcelon's business was done in the United States. St. Stephen is a border town, and Garcelon used a post office box in Calais, Maine, to sell U.S. stamps to customers. He was an aggressive advertiser, appearing in newspapers, magazines, and comic books all over North America.

At its peak, the company had 150 employees, still based in a town with a population of only 3,500. Mail was taken to the post office twice a day. According a write-up on the Garcelon Stamp Company inside the auction catalogue, one mailing alone weighed more than five tons.

The company specialized in selling multiple versions of the same set by approval.

in order to render any of specific sort of help we would need scans or photos. your local library should have a set of Scott catalogs. the intro info will help. also check out the American Philatelic Society website for a local stamp club. also ask your favorite coin dealer for input..
