I recently acquired these cards, that I believe are Postal Savings cards of some sort.

They all have the same printed, stamp-like image on them of what appears to be an Austrian stamp. Much the same as Austrian stamp of the late 1890's/early 1900's.

There are 8 different ones, in 8 different languages.

Can anyone confirm what they are exactly?

How were they used?

Does anyone have a used one, of this variety, as an example?

I tried googling various search terms, but I am coming up empty.

Here's what the instructions on the reverse say:

Quote:
Whoever wishes to save 50 kreuzer in small installments can manage this with this postal savings card.

Postal savings cards are sold at all Imperial Royal Post Offices and retailers of postage stamps for 5 kreuzer apiece, which is namely the value of the printed stamp.

Further saved amounts are affixed using normal Austrian postage stamps in the empty spaces.

When 50 kreuzer are saved in this way, every Imperial Royal Post Office will accept this savings card as a deposit of 50 kreuzer into an already existing or newly opened account.

If the affixed stamps are ruined or have already been used, the savings cards will not be accepted by the collecting office.

No more than three postal savings cards may be brought for redemption by one and the same depositor in one week, either individually or all at once.
