mml1942 - I will be happy to help maintain the PSE Cert database, and if there is anything else that I could help with, just let me know. I have a fair amount of programming experience (C and VBA), but unfortunately, no Web expertise.
Moderator(s), feel free to move this to any appropriate area. I'm new here, but been collecting off and on for like 65 years. I had put my collecting on hold for about 20 years and just recently got back into it. I'm trying to limit my collecting to the U.S. Americana Series from back in the '70's and '80's. Besides the stamps, I would especially like to find some sources of information about them. I can find the date of issue and the plate numbers that were used - I'd like to find when the date each of the Americana Series stamp's print run was overprinted with a BUREAU (not interested in town and types) precancel, when those precancels were received by each city's post office and/or authorized mailer (however that was arranged) and when they were 1st used by the authorized mailer(s). Like the 9 cent coil (Sc # 1616) has 5 different styles of Bureau precancel overprints, it would stand to reason that they weren't all printed during the same print run. I hope I made sense.
Hi Robert_Lee and welcome. You should repost this as its own topic with a question in the title - something like "Help with date of issue and plate numbers of Americana series." As it is now your question is buried in a topic that isn't related. This Stamp Smarter Foundation thread is about a knowledge project by one of the moderators whom we recently lost. Hope that make sense. Good luck, glad you are back collecting.
