Faq: How Do I Subscribe To A Topic?

For the new member who wants to know how to subscribe to a topic/thread...

A SUBSCRIPTION will generate an email to you every time there is a new post or update to the topic.

If you are the person creating the topic, simply check the "Check here to subscribe" button right above the Post button:



If the topic was created by another user and you wish to follow along, scroll down to the bottom of the topic and find the "Topic Subscription" link right above the Quick Reply box:



You are now SUBSCRIBED to the topic.

To MANAGE your subscriptions, go to the menu at the top of the page, click on MySCF then click SCF Subscriptions:



You will be able to view and/or unsubscribe all your subscriptions.

Some members like subscriptions, others don't. Personally, I prefer the ACTIVE Topics button for keeping up with new posts. Subscriptions can be useful to those who buy/sell and want instant updates.

Of course none of this really matters if you don't check your email

Is there any way to make yourself subscribe to any topic you post in?

Not to my knowledge.

when you use ReplyToTopic (not "QUICK REPLY" or create a topic, at the bottom is a check box that says, "Check here to subscribe to this topic".

Just click that..
There is no "auto-subscribe". I talked with the forum owner about that a few years ago.

I posted something earlier asking if anyone used the facebook groups for discussions and clicked subscribe. I got 4-5 replies because I have emails telling me I do, but I cannot find the post anywhere. I click in the email to go to post and it comes back to top of SCF page. I have searched in "My SCF" posts and the post is not listed there either. Any ideas?

I'm not sure, Jay. Usually, when a link takes you to the main page, it means that thread has been deleted.

I don't see your thread, but neither do I see that it was deleted. A mystery I will pass on to Admin.

Just noting that the "My SCF" button no long exists.

To view and manage subscriptions, click on the "Tools" button and then "Manage Subscriptions".
