Recent Kiloware Purchase

So finally after purchasing a Kiloware bundle back in April 15th I have just finished sorting and placing it in the respective stockbooks they belong too.

I got the bundle from a stamp dealer on Ebay called philozero that listed around 9,000 to 10,000 stamps per ziplock bag. I got one because it was my first foray into Kiloware.

I'm suprised I got a little bit over the usual amount around 10,507 stamps. A majority of the are from europe leading the way with 5999 and the North America with 2355. However I am a bit disapointed not to have a larger amount of both Asia and the Middle East/Central Asia.

This total includes duplicates as well since I haven't started the documentation process. But overlal I am pleased. I have two more bags so lets hope that Asia gets a bigger round this time. This bundle cost me $94 dollars (I believe) with shipping.

On another note, is there kiloware specially designed for large amounts (9,000 to 10,000) for Middle East/Central Asia and Asia Kiloware? Thats reasonable and won't have that many dupes. I for one am suprised that there isn't any large amount of kiloware from China or the Middle East.

I can not remember China(PR) kiloware being offered, China(Formosa) is sold now and then. Same aplies to the Middle East, except Israel.

So kiloware is just amassive amount of stamps?
Do you just get random stamps in the bag or are they
from a specific place or era?

Kiloware is worldwide stamps that are chosen from random. Some are selections from various countries like the ones from Jack and Jills kiloware and other like the one I talked about are random. Random include duplicates as well. If you want, I'll point out where you can get it from on Ebay.

Oh sure thing, I wanna check them out :D

Is that the normal price for them? or can you find
cheaper ones, or does it depend on the stamps included?

While visiting in Cape Cod..Jake(Sneeky) took me to the house of an 87 year old kiloware freak...he buys $500 kiloware lots from Germany..the higher end modern and semi postals...he soaks them and puts them in 102 cards in red boxes....duplication in the hundreds and he does not sell..he has rooms with shelves full of red boxes of Germany...at 87 what is he waiting for ??? I think we are all Mad !

Will, the Collier brothers right ? Sneeky sold some China items for the old feller on eBay...but it would take 15 lifetimes to post all the stuff he has..i offered him a hundred dollars for a box of covers I wanted so naturally he said $200..when I say a hundred I mean a hundred !

Yes, the Collier Brothers who were found dead in their home...one crushed by stacks of magazines or newspapers and the invalid brother who then starved to death. The house was packed to the hilt with assorted stuff. I've visited a few antique dealers who were Collier Syndrome like hoarders who had their "stores" in their homes with little pathways from room to room. They also have a tenacity to overvalue things to the point that they really don't want to sell anything. They will know where everything is located no matter how chaotic it looks or how big the stacks. One dealer had 100,000 postcards, 20,000 books, one large room of nothing but pottery, another with full of glasswares, the hall lined with violins in cases and untold amounts of other collectibles. Even the guy's kitchen was loaded and he had stacks in his bedroom.

this old fellow was not too well organized..he kept stressing Germany which does not interest me that much..i have met his type before..very difficult to do business with..i think they get their mental wires crossed !! one day a relative will have a dealer come in with a box truck and pay 1 percent of catalog for the whole house..but thats his choice !!
