No, nothing legitimate about it. Either the person is a scammer or just doesn't know any better and is fishing.

Actually he is "listing" it for that price. He is not going ever "sell" it for anything near that price.

There seems to be a new fad on ebay about these "green line errors" see:

Depends on your interpretation of legitimate. I believe everybody should price their own stamps at whatever price they like. I don't really care if they are wasting their time and eBay's bandwidth.
At 500,000 times true value, I have seen worse on ebay.

The disclaimers are interesting.

Please look at the pictures carefully. I am not a dealer and do not grade any coins or stamps. I only have a few stamps and even fewer coins. I try to list my items at below other listings on ebay, so we both get a fair price. If you have any question, please ask. I try to list my items as honestly and clearly as possible, so please look at the pictures carefully before using the "buy it now" or making an acceptable offer. Thank you much for looking at this listing.

The person seems to know enough he thinks it is worth $1000.

That's a by product of all of the free listings. Back in the day where the starting price determined the listing fee, it would have cost the seller $50 just to list it. They would have learned in a hurry.

I'm offended that they waste my time with crap like this. There is a group of stamps that fit into one of my search criteria. I know this group has been listed on Ebay for 2 and 1/2 years. He started it out at $24.95, dropped it to $19.95 and has finally settled at $29.95. It's probably worth $2. Yet a couple times every week I have to float past that lot.

There's even one seller from down under that has figured out if he used 1 day listings with automatic re lists his items will always be at the top of searches.

Get rid of free listings and lower final value fees. Make this an auction site again. If I wanted to see the same stuff over and over I'd go to Delcampe, Hipstamps, Stamps To Go, or the APS store.

I'm getting off my soapbox before I break an ankle.

It wasn't completely necessarily the free listings, but eBay got rid of the sliding scale for listing fees and pushed many sellers into stores. Of course if anyone is tired of seeing the same material from any seller again and again - block them.

I think he meant that you can exclude specific sellers from your searches. Do a search, then click on More Refinements on the left. Click on Seller, then check the box, make sure the drop-down shows Exclude, and enter the seller's name.

The search with blocked seller(s) can be saved. I block Anglo American Appraisal in all my searches.

What is the background on Anglo American Appraisal? I know the minimums seem to be high.
