Hi, I inherited this folder from my great uncle when he died in the early 1980's. I can't find any info on anything similar to it, and I would appreciate anything anyone can tell me about it: History, rarity, value, info on the ship cancellation, etc. Thanks!

Dave

Hello dave42, and welcome to this forum! This is certainly an interesting variation of a first day cover for the Army/Navy issue.

Others in this forum can probably add more than I can. One possible source of information would be contacting the Military Postal History Society at http://www.militaryphs.org/

I can't help you with information on the ship's cancellation but the website below provides info on the ship. Was your great uncle ever in the Navy? If so, he might have served on the Manley.
