These were sent by/to my grandfather (whose stamp collection got me started in this hobby) on VJ-Day in 1945. I attached 3 pics of the dozen or so he has, enjoy.

Those are way cool and nice to have from your grandfather. The covers aren't that expensive about 2-5 bucks but I think if you have other mementos from the war it would make an excellent display and tribute to him. Thanks for sharing.

These are really cool! Especially since they were your Grandfather's! Is the opened tape at the one end of the envelope from the contents being inspected? He was stationed in the Phillipines on VJ day?
