Hi all

I have this 1972 stamp guide that was issued by the Postal Service. It is the first year they put one of these out. It is in nice overall condition, but, of course, its out of date. All stamps are shown in color, with tons of stories behind the various stamp subjects. Covers back of book, Hawaii, Canal Zone, UN, etc.

If anyone knows a young collector who can use this, not for listed values, but for a guide to stamp images and US history, they can have it for the cost of shipping. If not, it will be going into the recycle bin.

JD

Glad to see your 1972 stamp guide found a home! I had one of those back in the day, too.

In fact, to fast forward to 2011, I went to my local post office trying to get the latest edition of "The Postal Service Guide to US Stamps", and when I asked about it, two postal clerks looked at each other like I was from another planet ... they never even heard of it!

By the way, you should NEVER even think about throwing out a FIRST EDITION of anything! Although this may not be worth much monetarily, it's currently going on Ebay for as much as $15, which is well above the initial purchase price, if I recall correctly.

I still have a couple of those ABCs of Stamp Collecting pamphlets and some of those mini stamp albums they used to sell back then. Anyone remember those?

Nells250, I'm sorry, I was going to give it my sisters kid but he has moved onto model trains--sorry for the delay, I just heard back from her.
