I'm a bit mystified by two of these precancels and hope that the group can help educate me on them.
The stamp on the left appears to be a precancel of Scott #409 (A108 20c claret perf 13-1/2x14 unwatermarked).
I know from khj's response to a previous thread that Scott doesn't list Belgian precancels unless the stamp was only issued precanceled so I'll list the 20c as #409.
The center and right stamps appear to be precancels of Scott #407 (A108 10c red orange perf 13-1/2x14 watermarked); however, the inscription under the
Lion Rampant reads "Belgie Belgique" rather than "Belgique Belgie."
I haven't been able to find reference to that switch on the A108 design in my 2009 Scott Vol 1, although the catalog does highlight the reversal for other issues.
Any background the group can provide on the two 10c stamps will be appreciated!
Steve
