Suggestion: Allow thread titles to be edited to add "Answered" or "Resolved" so others know.

I tried editing the title of a post to let people know I received the answer, but I got a message saying it's not allowed after one day.

I think this would improve peoples overall experience by preventing them from having to read through an entire thread to see if a question was answered.

A friendly counter to that is that some of the gold to be found here is in the process of getting to an answer. So you still "have to" read the thread, anyway.

Agreed, Cjd.

It's the part of me that's grateful for the help I receive that wants to save people who are willing to help the 'trouble'. :)

May I suggest that marking a question 'answered' makes it more about the person asking the question (eg, what they thought they needed) and less about the journey?

What about the SCFer who wants to add an alternative answer? Or, a followup question?

To mark the question 'answered' is to mark it 'do not bother adding anything important to you'.

If you 'read through an entire thread' and see that the question is unanswered, that would be a good time to add even a simple message (eg, 'I would also like to know about this') to bring the thread back to the top of the queue in the [Recently Active Forum Topics] list and in its forum.

Cheers,
