I bought these two covers today as well.

Ok - I guess I am going to the dark side but I think a lot of these meters are quite fancy and good looking.

My story and I'm sticking to it lol

I like the meter covers. I have quite a few stored away. I tried to index and catalog them but it started hurting my brain cell.

An intersting story goes along with that last cover addressed to the Castagnos Cane Loader Co., of Donaldsonville, Louisiana:

Interesting wt1

Whenever I see company covers, I also think that maybe some perfins in my collection might correspond to the different corner covers or advert covers that use these meters?

Alwys a possibility

Got a couple more meters to add to my collection.

The first one is especially interesting because it was used by personnel at the Atomic Energy Commission of Argentina.

Welcome to the Dark Side
I like meters too. Its a sideline (I'm not sure what my main collection is, I think I just have a lot of "sidelines" )
Meters add another layer of interest to postal history. I like your Japanses one .I have a similar example. Japanese meters can be very attractive.

Okay maybe it is time for me to come out of the closet. I have been collecting meters for almost 50 years. I have never really shown more than a couple special ones. Some ofIt was kind of shunned by collectors for a long time. I like the previous comment about their collection being a lot of "sidelines". I am guilty of that too.

I agree pjsstamps, they have been shunned.

Having stated this, we have to look back in the past and realize that cinderellas and perfins were once shunned too. Look at those areas today and you see sites devoted specifically to them.

I am inclined to think that sites such as the Wilipaedea one and a couple of others, plus the SCF forum here, could very well increase their popularity? Time will tell I'm sure but also inclined to think they will make great gains.

Again, another interesting posting wt1

When the day comes when I will be mounting these meters, I will add that to the page.
