On this day in history January 25th (1915) the first transcontinental phone call from New York to San Francisco was made by Alexander Graham Bell, which leads to me to suggest that we start a topical thread for the image of Alexander Graham Bell on stamps.

Let's start with this one:

Wt1: I'm just giving this a bump. If Rod can get pages on pole insulators surely someone can contribute something on Alexander Graham Bell and don' forget his contribution to aviation in Canada.

Thanks. I know Canada has issued several stamps with this theme, as has other countries.

I read some of this thread, see below, earlier and was turned off by it...

Building a worthwhile stamp collection is no piece of cake

I love my little stamp collection....

Here is my contribution: A stamp and a quote

When one door closes another door opens; but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us.

My Gosh! I went for supper and look what happened. I'm sure there's more and we even turned up a Canadian insulator stamp - hopefully one that Rod doesn't have. LOL!

EDIT: whoops - laughing at myself - Rod put the stamp on. Okay - no more wine at supper!
