Updated 6.30pm NZ Time 14th December.
The first Round Robin will be posted out 15th Dec to

A001.Stampgal UK

C001.fifia USA Has agreed to be third on the list if "Maiden" accepts.

(ajnabii) As at above time/date,no email has been received,so I have dropped them from the list.

D001.ncbuckeye USA

E001.Dianne Canada.....who will post back to Joey.

The second Round Robin has started under forum - Buy/Sell/Trade.
First place has been taken. Four spaces left.
Type - 75 Stamps on Paper.

Kia Ora Everyone,100 stamps for my first "Round Robin" ready to go.

If you are interested in taking part, leave a comment or send me an email with your name & address.
Only the members user name & Country will be shown here.
I will contact those listed for their name & address to post to.

Joeytoat NZ will post to -
A001.Stampgal UK
B001.fifia USA
C001.ajnabii
D001.ncbuckeye USA
E001.Dianne Canada.....who will post back to Joey.

Shall I make a rule that once you are first you cannot be first on the next one but you can be 2nd.

Suggestions needed for future Round Robins.
Countries?
Alternative stamps?
Definitive stamps?
Mint stamps?
Stamps on Paper?(Would need to be neatly trimmed)

Pointers - Stamps should be free of stains, tears, short or damaged perforations and blotchy cancels.
Only good sound stamps should be used.
Think of it as posting stamps to a family member, which is what SCF is - one big happy family.

When you have received the envelope and checked the stamps you should post a message on the appropriate RR thread topic.
This is compulsory for the efficiency of the game. If you come across any poor stamps you should specify this in your message.
With this rule in place I'm sure everyone will use good stamps.

When you have taken and replaced stamps and sent it on, leave a message again on the appropriate RR thread that it's on it's way to the next person.

Many thanks to "londonbus1" for all your help.

These are just some of the many boxes, envelopes and albums of stamps I have yet to sort thru. I have another kilo I purchased arriving mid-week.

I think this would equally fit in the trades section.

I suggest each member contacts the next on the list for their mailing details - means less admin for you. Just a thought.

Looking forward to taking part.

No problem Joey !

There is more though.

All participants should put nice commemorative stamps on their cover.
These nice stamps might also go into the collection.

The person starting the Round Robin and organizing the order of participants, should consider the postage costs between the countries. For example, those in the Round coming from the same country should be grouped consecutively followed by the nearest country thereafter and so on.

Any future Round Robins should be given consecutive numbers even if started by a different member. This will keep a good order to this new venture.

It's not simple is it ?

Londonbus1...as simple as they come !

Yes, I agree. While it is a kind of game, it is more than anything a way of trading.

It is usual in these kind of exchanges for the organizer to draw up a list with addresses and three columns. One for stamps taken, one for stamps replaced [you may want to add a few extra as a 'thank you' to the organizer] and one for comments. This list is enclosed each time and is sent back to the organizer for perusal and to see comments [Good or bad].

Londonbus1....I talk too much.

Hi Everyone,Emails received from - Stampgal UK; fifia USA; ncbuckeye USA & Dianne Canada. I have emailed ajnabii for their name & address.
Once I have their details,we can get started.

Joeytoat NZ will post to -
A001.Stampgal UK
B001.fifia USA
C001.ajnabii (If USA,they will stay here,if not they will move down)
D001.ncbuckeye USA
E001.Dianne Canada.....who will post back to Joey.

I will reply to all emails giving you my real name,my home address,my postal address & my mobile number. This is just to put your minds at ease that you are dealing with a real "SCF family member" who hopes to be around for a few years yet.
Just remember the time difference - as I type this it is 2.22pm 12th December so it may be 12 hours or so before I reply to emails.

Input now needed on what Round Robin #002 should be.
My thoughts are maybe Used decimal NZ stamps; Worldwide Mint Stamps; Worldwide stamps on paper? (Carefully trimmed)Let us know.

Thank you to everyone for all your feedback/input,especially londonbus1. I have that $15 stamp packed, ready to send to you londonbus1 as a thank-you for all your help. I'm glad you aren't londontaxi1 as my fare would be a lot more.

I have had a look at the buy/sell/trade forum. I can see trades wanted ?
Would it be okay to list under there? It would mean that only members with 50+ posts would be able to take part,so I thought of asking admin if I can do something for the under 50 posts. I had a look right thru the members list and I see well over half are under 50. Some with only 1 or 2 posts or no posts at all.

Londonbus1 made some good points -
"The person starting the Round Robin and organizing the order of participants, should consider the postage costs between the countries. For example, those in the Round coming from the same country should be grouped consecutively followed by the nearest country thereafter and so on.

Any future Round Robins should be given consecutive numbers even if started by a different member. This will keep a good order to this new venture".

Don't forget to post a comment when you receive and then again when you post it on the next person.
Try and post it on as soon as you can.
Don't take everything out and fill it up with your countries stamps.
Don't put in more than one of a stamp. Save extras for future RR's.

Photo shows some more stamps(mostly on paper)I have yet to sort. Hence my idea of "stamps on paper" as the second Round Robin. The ball point pen in the box, shows you how deep the box is.

As an aged decrepit observer I honestly wish ALL participants the best of luck and trade longevity.

Could I just say that looking back in time I've seen enthusiastic ideas eventually fizzle out due to 3 basic reasons

1) work/time involved
2) Difference of opinion between 'new/old collectors experience' in what's a good or common stamp and it's actual fairdincum value and condition (not what a certain cat' says).
3) Some collectors have ALL the received stamps, already, many times over (winners and looses).

Joey,

I love this idea. I am going to sit back and watch
for now because the next two months are going to be
very busy for. But, I would love to join in for
round 2 or 3! Thanks so much for organizing this
and getting all the kinks worked out.

Hi Philb - Thank you for your comment. It doesn't take long to do 50 posts. Mainly visiting other members & leaving comments; saying hello to newbies, etc. There's so much to see & do. I started a couple of threads as well, including one asking members how they came up with their "name". A lot of interesting comments & some great photos.
Hi Finches - Thanks for your comments. I like your avatar. Looks like the pheasants I see sometimes around the property. I live on a 10 acre mainly bush block. All we can do is try these things and if they work, they work. I am semi retired novice collector with a lot of time on my hands.
The next round Robin may be based on Countries A - F, and will be put under the Buy/Sell/Trade forum,so only members with 50+ posts will be able to take part. You are more than welcome to take part.

Hi Maiden, Many thanks for dropping by. The next Round Robin #002 will start from the forum Buy/sell/Trade.
I just got a SG Collect British Stamps,2004 Colour Checklist catalogue which I won on an auction site for $2 (It has a price sticker of $39 on it). Looking at the stamps in the first photo I can see SG622 which has a cat.value of £5.

Joeytoat, you're very fortunate to be in touch and live along side nature. I also have virgin bush surrounding me on 2 sides.
