Hi All,

I have a few MNH blocks of 4 Australian stamps that I intend to put up for sale.
I'd like to get a reasonably current catalog $ value so I can include it in the description.

The Scott #s are:
578
883
890-891 (block of 8)
909
1005
1006
1007
1040
1041
1042
1043
1063B
1079
1080
1081
1105
1106-1112
1134
1136-1139
1140
L56

Any help will be appreciated!

Dave N.

Dave, if you hope to sell these in the Australian market, you'll really have to get the Gibbons numbers and values for them. 95% of Australian collectors won't have immediate access to Scott.

Thanks for the replies,

I don't have a Gibbons cat. When I put them up for sale, I'll include year, description, and scans.

In the mean time, if I can find an online Gibbons cat, I may be able to determine the Gibbons #.

Finches, when I get a chance, I'll post some images here of the higher value stamps.

Again, thanks for the input. Everyone here is so helpful!

Dave, we can cross reference a few SG numbers for the images you post. That might spruce up the listings on the higher-value items.

(This is where tonymacg points out that some higher-value SG items may be hiding in plain sight within the "lower values" identified under the deficient Scott listings. Don't tell him I said this, but he could be right.)

Hi oldtriguy, I have had a quick look through Scott and your numbers refer to pretty common decimal stamps; I don't think CV is going to help you if you are selling them. About 60 to 75% Face value is probably the best you can aim for, as these can still be used for postage in Oz if they are Mint.

cheers

When I say "we" it turns out I don't mean "me" as I just looked at the first few in Scott, and I don't have a Gibbons that would help...they're too new for my extremely limited SG resources.

Of course, I didn't hear that, Cjd, but if I had ...

Ok,

Here are some scans showing front and back.
I can do scans of individual blocks if needed/requested.
