Hi mrmagic,
I do not know, only like it because I have been there amongst a lot of other outback towns that most people have never heard of such as Augathella, Chin Chin, chinchilla,

Hi! Horamkhet.
Nice to see someone excited about KGV's especially Perf OS's.

Had a person outside of Australia ask me if I knew much about Longreach Queensland.
Not only was I able to tell him about where his Grandfather lived pre-1930 but was able to sent him some Longreach cancels, one on a KGV and one on a pair of state stamps.

Charleville Queensland that is on your 1/2d orange is where our plane refueled before reaching into the Heart of Australia's central deserts.
Of recent times it has a "mean" reputation. Would of been roughly the same population in the 1930's as Longreach and only a couple of 100 miles apart in Western Queensland. And were the main townships of there districts. Not that rare for cancels but not that easy to find as well.
Always Happy Stamping. KGV.

Hi KGV Collector
What a small world, I lived in Longreach for about six months when my family first moved to Australia.
My late Dad was foreman of the power station.
this was before it was a tourist attraction and long before the cattleman's Hall of fame.
I know all the towns round that area, Barcaldine where the Australian Labour Party was born, Muttaburra where the dinosaur bones were discovered. I used to go fishing in the Thompson River. In those days all the streets in Longreach were named after Birds. I lived in Ibis Street.
Kevin Bacon eat your heart out.

Horamkhet, just some tiny advice - some of the stamps have folded corner perfs which detract from a stamps beauty and value.

With plentiful issues insist on 4 corner perfs as your personal standard.

Put a tiny drop of water on the perfs involved, wait 2 minutes then straighten perf GENTLY and allow to COMPLETELY dry before replacing into mount.
