Australian States - Long Gully Sa Postcard

Found this at a fleamarket at the weekend. I'm very pleased as its my first Australian States stamp on piece.
Long Gully is a few km south east of Adelaide, and Woodville, where the recipient lives, is a northern suburb of Adelaide. I imagine it was an outlying village in those days.
I can't make out a date.
I wonder if he ever got his trousers?

it may be, part of waterfall gully, if so
a very popular holiday destination near Adelaide.

Gold in South Australia

South Australia's earliest goldrush was sparked by William Chapman when he discovered gold near Echunga in 1852. Prospectors then moved west over Chapel Hill and into Long Gully. In 1868 the news of a rich strike at Jupiter Creek just to the south of this area attracted over 1,000 people in the first few weeks. A mining township with two stores, a hotel, a wineshop and huts was established on the hill above Long Gully.

I reckon we cxan see the 4 of 1904
that would be my guess.

but to a collector from South Australia, $15-$20?

What I find most attractive in your postcard
are the hand hewn Jarrah road posts, beautiful.

They are still around in Western Australian country,
but are greyed with age (like the rest of us :)
and the "tongue and groove" construction is warped, shrivelled
and loose.
