Although not stamp related, here are two news items about the US Postal Service I just found today.

1. Nice work, if you can get it!

saw today where they are 5.5 billion in default, wth the monies due any day now. Im sure congress will bail them out, but at what cost to us? will we get a discount on stamps? prob not.....
"what if" the USPS were to go under? what would that do to the hobby?

i don't understand, how households have to make ends meet, but no government agency or large business (thanks to the bailouts) need to. What is up with that? And the post office wonders what is up?
