Yes I am aware of the brutal economic reality that is causing post offices to close, but the NYT 's article shows the human face of these decisions.

That's the post office that's just north of me by a few miles. It's a nice little post office that has a nice selection of stamps and is very friendly. They might as well close the post office in Hoosick Falls as it's open at 9am and then closes for an hour from 11am to noon. They also lack most of the basic stamps. I usually use the Hoosick Post Office as I can walk there and they are another small post office. I'll have to buy some stamps from the North Hoosick Post Office to show some support.

Don't forget to get some nice handstamp cancels on cover, too, as someday (if the USPS gets their way) collectors will desire those cancellations as being from a (soon to be) discontinued post office!

I would like to see it..i am going up to a memorial for my Uncle in Readsboro Vermont in September..i already showed a picture of the tiny post office in the Everglades...i hope it survives..Florida should make it a state treasure !
