I'm not sure if there is a correct term for this. I just call them cross-over stamps. These are stamps where the catalogue number catches up with the year. Before this, the stamp number is lower than the year and after this, the stamp numbers are higher than the year.
This must be the smallest topical collection in the world, as I only have these three stamps...
Czechoslovakia SG#1971 from 1971

Germany SG#1981 from 1981

Hungary SG#1964 from 1964

Please show me yours. I realise they may vary depending on which catalogue you use.

Steve

You should look out for New Zealand SG1996 (1996), $1.50 Fur seals. That shouldn't be hard to find, as $1.50 was the letter rate from NZ to Australia at that time.
Nevis SG2007(2007) might be a bit harder to pick up, but it's from a definitive set of shells, so not impossible.

Surely you have Australia SG2000(2000), 45c Sir Neville Howse, Australia's first VC winner.

Excellent work there 22C
So the Somerset lad was the first,
I had never heard of Stogursey before in Someset
being a Somerset boy myself.
My mother was born in Taunton where Howse went to School.
3 months between records explains the label possibly.

Unless you insist on a Western calendar base for your topic, the half-fen gray brown pagoda, Manchukuo #1, would be issued in Year 1. (We would call it 1932, but Manchus* would call it Year 1.)

I suppose you could argue that there is no cross-over, since they start from the same point, but it's your call...you get to define the topic.

*I'll accept any suggestions or corrections on the proper demonym for denizens of Manchukuo.

CJD, I had thought about using other calenders as well, but I think I will keep it simple.

22crows, surprisingly enough, I don't have the Aussie SG2000. Must have missed that one along the way.

Romania may have a cross over in 1948

My SG simplified in 1948
jumps from SG1943 to SG1954
There may be a special stamp afforded SG1948

I suppose I could try ebay

Only one from GB I think. SG#1997 comes from the 1997 Post Offices set.

I have a big gap in my Romania about this time.
I have stamp 1792 and then my next stamp is 2055.

Stanley Gibbons now lists the I.O.V.R. stamps under Postal tax stamps, as T1948-T1951.

I checked the online-Michel and found 112 stamps, the first one from 1957, none of which I have. Small collection indeed. And yes, it depends on the catalogue: 1971, no hit in Michel. 1981, North-Corea. 1964, no hit in Michel.

Another small collection would be stamps where the catalogue number is one's year of birth, that'll be 108 stamps in my case. Yet another small collection would be stamps issued on leap day.

When I look for megalithic tombs, I only find 15 stamps.

Klaus
