Great maps everyone.
wt1...those are gems. Superb.

Indeed this whole thread would have a Cartographer drooling.
And if he was a collector of stamps too, well..........

Here is my favourite Map stamp.
Great detail on this one.

It's rather large too !

Londonbus1.....Rather too large !

Londonbus1:

What is the stamp you posted? It doesn't have a denomination, so maybe a cinderella? It looks German. Can you translate the text and/or date it?

wt1

I know very little I'm afraid.
Other than it shows the Odenwald district of Hesse, Franconia.
Kreis Erbach means the Erbach district, Erbach being the central town.
I guess around the 1950's and will endeavour to get some answers from my friend in Munich who is often full of good stampy answers [even though a non-collector]

I like it and it's so big !

Here are a couple from Greece.

This one below might represent Greeks spreading (radiating) out over the world?

Thanks Litho !

Erbach is indeed the Land of the Ivory Carvers !
They have a Museum and Ivory carving was introduced to the town in the late 18th Century.
Indeed, the towns nickname is 'Elfenbeinstadt' [Ivory Town].

So maybe the Cinderella was an advert for the Ivory interest of the area.
