Enriching The Forum Environment To Better Facilitate Trading

Is it a question of revenue or other issues (or both)? There are many technical people active in the forum (including me) who could lend a hand with daily care and feeding. If it's a question of money, I'd be happy to donate to keep this site going...I'd really like to NOT see it go away.

This forum is a valuable resource for a lot of us. Tell us what you need to keep this site up! I'm sure there are a lot of us that would chip in to help however we can.

It hasn't been a really serious thought yet, but it does pop into my head quite a bit. It just doesn't pull it's weight at all.

I got a suggestion about the ads. A nag page, People using blockers get a nag page for 5 seconds before they can view a content page. I think I'll be doing it here this week. People WILL be mad.

The ads here are not intrusive, no popups, nothing covers content, like half the other sites. There's no need to block them.

I stopped using mine on here. It kinda runs all of the time so I never thought about it.

Whats the average monthly uptime cost for a site like this? Are we talking hundreds, thousands or tens? (Not people costs, but rather hosting)

I lease my own server. The coin forum and stamp forum are both on it. If I consider this site to be 25% of the operating costs and the coin forum 75%. Then this place, with my time, costs about 8K a year. It makes no where near that. If the coin forum didn't make up the difference, this place would've closed a long time ago.

Keep in mind that hosting is not the only fixed expense, there are other monthly fees not included such as antivirus, spam member detection, SSL (thanks Google for sticking your nose in my business), and several others.

I have turned my blocker off for this site.
