Wow Gussy that horse is interesting.
I can't enlarge it and my eyes are getting old so I'll ask you.
Has that horse got a fourth leg?
Any way its a nice stamp.

If a horse is running with 2 fronts legs up the the 2 back legs should be down or in a somewhat similar position. What I see is part of the train wheel drive under the horse. Could you please have a close look for us Gussy?

Looks like four legs to me.

I couldn't see the horse having three legs off the ground while pulling this heavy load. He would have to be at a gallop.

Great investigating about my four legged horse!
I never knew they had something like that coach or caboose that was horse drawn! That horse is running on train like tracks--how do you stop when a horse is going that fast???

yea it looks like there are three tracks - each track has a progression in rail technology. the first is the horse pulling a cart (they used them on the early short line tracks), the next is a early steam engine, the last is a modern electic diesel.

i don't understand horses and I guess the engraver didn't either.

Trains on movie prop stamps...

(These stamps were used on a film called "a letter from Evie")

First movie prop stamps used on regular mail 1946

(parcel post stamps could be used as normal postage from 1913 onwards)

I wonder if it was addressed to Raymond Burr's wife
