MW does stand for Montgomery Wards. I am collecting precancels of Illinois towns and any town along Old Route 66. As for Route 66 there are 140 towns across 8 states. I am looking for collectors to trade with precancel for precancel. I am new to precancels and have a limited selection to trade for. I can sends scans if interested.

Hey, Stamperdude! You're just a hop, skip, and jump away from where I live. Do you possibly have a list of the 140 (Illinois?)towns that are along route 66 or a web site where I can look it up?? I would love a Rolla, MO precancel if they exist --I was born and raised there. Could you place a scan here on the forum under this thread of what you have?

Rolla MO is on the list. My hometown is as well, Williamsville IL. I do not have either though. I just started precancels about a month ago. I do have a list of the 140 route 66 towns available for precancels. I will post it later tonight. |
